iSpeak was founded in Shanghai in mid-2006. Despite our youth, our teachers are among the best in Shanghai . The inspiration for iSpeak comes from Ada Zhang, one of iSpeak's principal founders. Before starting iSpeak, Ada worked for many years as a senior instructor at another well-known Chinese language school. Ada is passionate about teaching, and found her previous environment to be too corporate, and the treatment of students to be too impersonal. Thus, Ada gathered some partners to start iSpeak, with the intent of creating a school that truly embodies the motto, “A Culture of Caring”.

We demonstrate our caring in many ways. One of these is our focus on the quality of our curriculum. Since iSpeak focuses on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, we've initiated contact with a number of colleges and universities in the United States to learn about their teaching methods and techniques. Moreover, we've made a study of various memory and mnemonic techniques that we've incorporated into our classes. These techniques are fun and easy to use, and will help make learning Chinese easier and more fun. |
At iSpeak, we also have a habit of befriending all of our students. Through this process, we learn about each student's study, work, and living habits. Our teachers then adapt the curriculum to each student's needs and habits. We are confident that you will thoroughly enjoy the iSpeak experience. |
